S. J. Jananiy is an Indian National & Multi-Global-Award-Winning Film Composer, Carnatic Classical Vocalist, Hindustani & Western Classical Vocalist, Singer-songwriter, Playback Singer, Music Director, Music Producer, Record Producer, Performer, Sound Engineer, Carnatic Keyboard Instrumentalist, Keyboardist/Pianist/Harmonium Player, Research Scholar. Jananiy records Violin/Veena & Percussions for her own recordings. She is an "A Grade" artist of All India Radio. 

Jananiy is a GRAMMY® Voting member and a Recording Academy Producer & Engineer Wing member. 

She is a prodigy with 25+ years of experience in Music. 

Jananiy recently scored music for the Tamil Feature Film/Movie “Rail” (old name Vadakkan) that was released on 21 June, 2024, for which Jananiy collaborated with the Bulgarian National Radio Symphony Orchestra, Sofia, Bulgaria, for the soundtracks and Score.

Jananiy was bestowed with the prestigious "National Award" (Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar) in 2002 from the Government of India.

She has been bestowed with the coveted "Kalai Maamani" Award by the Government of Tamil Nadu for 2018.

ACADEMICS:

In Western Classical Music, Jananiy is an ATCL in Vocal (Associate Trinity College London) and Grade 8 Keyboard and theory student at Trinity College London.

In Hindustani Vocal, she has a Senior Diploma.

A Graduate in Economics from Stella Maris College, an MA (Post Graduate in Master of Arts in Indian Music) & MPhil (Master of Philosophy) in Music from Queen Mary's College, Chennai. 

Currently pursuing a PhD in Music.

MUSIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Jananiy has released 90+ Albums, including genres such as Carnatic Classical Vocal/Keyboard, Pop, World, Soundtracks, Electronic, Spiritual/Devotional, Fusion, Trap, and Blues. 

She scored music for the Tamil Movie Prabha, for which her Guru Padmavibhushan, the Late Dr. M. Balamuralikrishna, rendered his final Playback Song.

She composes, produces music and sings for many Albums, Idents, Scores, Short Films, and Documentaries in various languages. 

Jananiy's first performance was at the age of 5, and she has performed 1,100 Shows in Carnatic Vocal, Fusion, Carnatic Keyboard, and Bhajans, including a JugalBandhi Concert with Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia at Paris, France. 

 

MASSIVE MILESTONE:

Jananiy’s "Om Namo Venkatesaya,” a mantra chanted by devotees of Lord Venkatesha of Tirumala Tirupati, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, goes viral on YouTube Shots, crossing 160 million views apart on Instagram and Facebook reels. 

Jananiy’s various musical works, such as Nari Shakti, Friendship Song, Chanting, and BrahmaKumaris meditation songs, such as Azhagiya Jothiyaai, have crossed over a million views on Facebook and Instagram Reels. 

 

Jananiy is a lifelong student of the Brahmakumaris World  Spiritual University. 

She owns 3 Dot Recording Studios in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, and JSJ Audio Label.
