My name is Shelly, I was born and raised in Israel and after my army service I traveled around the world, I scuba dived in Egypt , backpacked in South America for 11 years I did long distance hiking. In 2003 my ex and I crossed the province of Quebec by foot and in 2010 I through hiked the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine across 14 states, it’s a 2182 mile journey that took me 6 months to walk. Since then for the past 10 years I have become a Ceramicist, it’s my full time job, I have two companies with my partner, Crazy Cat Lady Ceramics and Baked In Vermont Pipe Company, we ship all over the world and have collaborated with some of our favorite artists like Melissa Etheridge and Melissa Gilbert. I live in Vermont on a tiny island with my partner and our 3 cats. I’m passionate about dancing, animals, listening to books and live music, I don’t usually take pictures at concerts since I like being in the moment and also out of respect for the performer that’s why I put pictures of my cats but if I wasn’t a potter my dream would be to be a live music photographer. I speak Hebrew, English and French. I take all the pictures for our companies and I use my iPhone for it. I love capturing the subtle nuances of my subject’s energy and emotions in a given moment. A precious moment held in time. I’m passionate about everything I put my mind to, punctual and fun to be around.
