Hunter S. Thompson once said: “When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.”

So that’s what I did.

Over the last few years, I’ve taken the varied, eclectic, and often bizarro collection of diverse experiences and skills that I’ve accrued and synthesized them into a coaching practice I call: Miracle Mapping .

I realized that throughout my life, there was a through line, a common denominator in all my occupations. Whether I was teaching grammar to teenagers, performing burlesque (!?), attending philanthropy board meetings, touring with my metal bands, directing theater productions, modeling for goth outlets, or coaching young adults in executive function, the same 3 questions would arise:

“Hey VK...do you have a minute?”

“Can I talk to you?”

“What should I do?”

It became clear to me that so many people are in of need empathy, kindness, and sometimes, a little shove and a hug. And I always have those on hand!

So, as more and more of my time became spent in coaching, consulting, and the like, I decided to go all in. And to do so, I wanted more information. I felt that, in order to truly help people, I would need as many tools as I could get! That’s when I began studying at The Meta Performance Institute for Coaching.

There I learned that while compassion and love are important, so are fierce advocacy, assigned accountability, and expanded vision.

Still, I wondered: “Who am I to do this?”

Well, taken with the skills I already possessed, I began to identify more and more with Annie Sullivan. She was not a celebrated therapist or innovator when she began working with the Kellers. She was an unconventional choice; how would she pull Helen out of darkness when she herself was visually impaired? Wasn’t this the proverbial blind leading the blind? History proved not.

I came to believe that my shortcomings, mistakes, and imperfections actually made me a better coach...I could relate to my clients’ struggles more deeply, and speak into their challenges from a place of understanding, not detachment.

And so- Miracle Mapping is launched! Not by a Tony Robbins or an Oprah Winfrey, but by a pink haired, tattooed mama bear who knows you are capable of more than you can even imagine.
