When it comes to the band, I’m with it.
Especially on a Friday night in a crowded (covid protocols aside, of course), sweaty DIY venue, watching hundreds of music lovers yell the childish and excitable lyrics penned when I was 16. Beneath the beautifully chaotic chanting, the buzzing of the amps, and screeching stench of a fan who needs to invest in some deodorant, I feel complete bliss. I witnessed and learned at a young age the effect music has on people. Through music, community is created. Ok, nerd alert!, but this community is exactly why I would be an excellent music business summer intern: I want to employ my skills to learn more and fully immerse in this community.
With a new major (hello, psychology/Law and Society) and an innovative spirit, I am adaptable, flexible, and excited to perform beyond expectations wherever and whenever I am needed. One facet to the music community I thrive on is collaboration- I mean, my songs or client’s songs wouldn’t be on the platform without a whole lot of teamwork. I am a quick learner (thanks to Purdue’s rigorous curriculum) and incredibly passionate in everything I do.
Whether I am on stage, singing to hundreds of excited music fanatics, hauling amps larger than me across the venue for the next act, or telling my clients for what seems like the millionth time “y’all need more promo!,” I thrive in the hustle and bustle of the music industry.
Bold, passionate, and a total industry dork: I’m with it.
