Keila

Bio

Hi! I'm Keila Myles, but my friends call me Keyz. I'm an independent artist from New Haven, Connecticut, now based in Los Angeles. My sound is somewhere between R&B and Hip-Hop with a touch of Reggae and Punk.

My artistry is rooted in authenticity and empowerment. A highlight of my career was performing "Suite 21" with my band, The Moose Knuckles, for NPR's Tiny Desk Contest, where we placed in the top 45 out of 6,600 entries. The song, which addresses sexual assault, demonstrates my commitment to meaningful storytelling through music.

My musical journey includes several recent singles and my first EP "Just Add Water" in 2020, which showcases the full spectrum of my artistic vision. I'm currently crafting my sophomore solo project titled Leftovers.

Whether commanding the stage solo or with my full band, I create electrifying performances that have earned a dedicated following, particularly at venues like Toad's Place. My sound and lyricism draw inspiration from legendary artists like Lauryn Hill, J. Cole, Tina Turner, and Nina Simone, while maintaining its own distinct identity.

Based in Los Angeles, I'm passionate about collaborative creativity. My music seamlessly combines soulful vocals with authentic hip-hop storytelling, creating a unique sonic experience that resonates with diverse audiences.

I'm actively seeking opportunities for live performances, collaborations, and creative partnerships. Let's create something extraordinary together!
